        Aloha!

My name is Amy Saxton and I am the Distance Learning Librarian at the Mookini Library, serving both the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaii Community College.
You can reach me at saxton@hawaii.edu

This website will document my experiences with my pursuit of a Master of Education in Educational Technology degree through an online program offered by the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Part of the Final Project for the program is an electronic portfolio, which some sections of this website will be devoted to.

This site will be a continual project throughout the years I'm in the program that will contain some completed assignments and some works-in-progress.  Individual assignments and projects are available from the Works page.  Brief descriptions of the courses are available from the Descriptions page.

So what is Educational Technology?  As my program describes it, EdTech is about finding "innovative ways to integrate emerging technologies for teaching and learning" (http://etec.hawaii.edu/about.html) which is a good goal for a librarian!
